Byblos Resort & Casino is located on the central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica in Manuel Antonio. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio is easily accessible by air or land, and boasts one of the most beautiful coastal national parks in the country.

There are several ways to get from San Jose to Manuel Antonio:

  • Sansa Airlines: Flies from Juan Santamaria, San Jose's International Airport, directly to Quepos. Flight time is 25 minutes. There are several daily flights which can be booked online at www.flysansa.com. It is a 10-minute ride from the Quepos Airfield to the Byblos Resort. We are pleased to arrange pickup or drop-off service.
  • Private Ground Transportation: We can arrange for a private driver to pick you up in San Jose and provide door-to-door service to Byblos. Typically, they use an air conditioned 12-passenger van, though other style vehicle arrangements can be made. Prices vary according to the type of vehicle and number of people in your party. Please consult us for further information and pricing.
  • Interbus or Grayline: Semi-public transportation service from San Jose to Byblos in vans or coasters. Cost is around $30-35 each way, though departure times are limited. Both companies will provide direct shuttle service from major hotels or the Juan Santamaria airport in San Jose to Byblos. Occasional stops are made along the way, and once in Manuel Antonio, you may stop at many different hotels to drop off other passengers. The ride generally takes 4-5 hours depending on the number of stops along the way. Please contact us and we will be happy to give you more information or arrange this for you.
  • Driving: Roads are winding, steep, and poorly lit and maintained by American standards. From the San Jose International Airport, take the Pan-American Highway to Atenas. Exit at Atenas-Orotina sign and continue your drive over the scenic mountains past Orotina. Continue on past Jaco, Parrita, and finally Quepos. Once in Quepos, turn left just past the tiny park, and drive another 2.5 miles (4 km) on the curvy road to Manuel Antonio National Park. You will see the Byblos Resort sign and parking on your left-hand side. The total distance from the Juan Santamaria San Jose airport is 90 miles (150 km), which will take around 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Please contact us for a list of local rental car agencies, or we are happy to make the arrangements for you.
  • Nature Air: Flies from San Jose to Quepos, but does not fly out of the International Airport. There are several daily flights which can be booked online at www.natureair.com. It is a 10-minute ride from the Quepos Airfield to the Byblos Resort. We are pleased to arrange pickup or drop-off service.
