It was April of 2007, almost 11 years ago that my wife Amy and I had a crazy idea to cook chicken wings on the side of a mountain called Escaleras near Dominical. We had about five flavors of wings and some cold Imperials and Pilsens. For the first two years we didn’t even have a sign at the bottom of the hill. You had to be “in the know.” Now ten years later we have 24 distinct wing flavors, a sign, and two locations. There’s the original mountain pirate ship in Escaleras between Dominical and Uvita where the trees are full of toucans, and the newly opened Manuel Antonio location flanked by lots of monkeys. We offer hot wings, cold beer, sports and live music in a fun & funky environment for the whole family. Our mottos are: Butter makes it better. Everything is better with beer. And fat equals flavor! Our food may not be the healthiest, but man does it taste good! Wings, BIG burgers, Chicken sandwiches and pizzas all that are exploding with flavor. Come and see us. You’ll be glad you did!
